Lake Hamilton was born in 1932, when Arkansas Power & Light dammed the Ouachita River south of Hot Springs, creating one of Arkansas's favorite lakes, now 7,200 acres with over 200 miles of shoreline for fishing, vacations, and year-round living. Hot Springs has drawn visitors even longer, its thermal waters earning National Park status in 1921 as the system's oldest site, with Bathhouse Row still standing as a spa-era landmark.
